How much does a basic membership to a fitness club cost?
I live in Toronto, Canada.
I pay $15 every 2 weeks, is that too much?

It depends on the services included in most cases…I pay about $20.00 a month on a 1 year contract for no frills, hit the iron, get out..I think I could probably get a better deal for a longer contract. British Columbia…

Fees vary depending on the facilities. The Fitness Club near my home is $27 a month for students and $32 for adults. They have limited hours on weekends and they have fitness machines and weights and a few classes.
The Club near my work is $50 a month, but they have two pools, tennis courts, raquetball courts, a full gym, lots of classes plus fitness equipment.

You can always check the city’s parks and rec pages for surrounding cities to compare online. You might not get towel service, but hey, you’ll be comparing apples to apples.

In Wisconsin it cost any where from $30 a month (the gyms I work for) all the way to 86 a month for a Golds Gym membership that includes tanning, juice bar and other small perks.
