How can I get my mom to sign me up for a health club?

I want to being working out for football and I need to go to a place with weights. I could go to my school but Ic an on’y go at 7 am or 4-5pm because I’m working at a camp form 9-3. Also my coach wants me to work out 4-5 days a week and the school is only open 3 days. The only thing is I told her I will pay a porion of the monthly fee. How can I convince her?

Do what I did when I was a kid. Write a report that clearly identifies the pros and cons of your idea. The objective for why you want this membership and your willingness to help pay for the program you want so that you can be successful in your objective.
So for instance, your objective for the gym membership could be to better prepare your body for the physical demands that football will entail. List specific injuries your body could incur if you arent prepared physically. Your goals while at the gym. Create a couple mock work out programs you could adhere to, with times and dates, so that you will not only have ontainable goals but know going into the gym the program you want to begin to reach your goals for football.
Im a girl, so I dont know what stuff you need to do train for football, but it may actually be less expensive to get a used or new weight bench that you can exercise on in your free time as you wish. Ask a local tire company for some used worn out tires to set yourself up an obsticle course in your backyard — football type stuff.
The down side to approaching this with pros and cons is that your mother could see the injuries, still say no and question your playing football at all… so go at this stratigically. She will see you are serious, seemingly devoted, and passionate about this, which may sway her to a degree.
It was fool proof with my parents. If I listed all the answers to the questions I could think they might ask (forward thinking), so that there would be no reason for them to say no except to just say no, and as a result, they would see that logically a no answer didnt make sense unless to be spiteful and so they conceided.
Good luck!

  1. If there is a college in your area with a good rec center, they will probably let students of the local K-12 schools use them for free (or a smaller fee than a health club). It doesn’t hurt to inquire…

I attend the The University of Toledo, which has a good rec center, and there are always kids from the local middle and high schools there, too…
